Texts from Amanda!

9/9/09 at 9:27 PM
Y is it that u cant advertise cigarettes on tv commercials but u can advertise alcohol, condoms, birth control pills and pornographic materials? Am i the only one who thinks there's sumthing hypocritical and rediculous wit that?

Sugar Rush!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Sugar Rush last night!
We had a truly disgusting amount of candy that we somehow managed to get rid of before the night was up!
We met a few new pledges, who all seem really cool!
I'm so excited for our next event... Monday at 7, meet us over by BK in the Student Center and head on over to Wayne Hills Diner!

Also, we had a lot of success at Club Fair yesterday! The wind was obscene, but none of our stuff went flying... because we're awesome... and even the wind bows down to us.

One of my ancestors from the Rev War era, Igidius Meyer, lived to be 104, when his wife dies he remarried at the age of 100. He also killed sumone in a duel for callin him a Scotch rebel. He was a badass lol

Chelsea's Quote of the Week!

“No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.”

-Gil Scott-Heron

It's better than reading the minutes...

Here's a review of what happened at the meeting last night:

So the offices of SVP, MVP, Fellowship Chair, PR Chair, and Website Coordinator are up for grabs. So far, Adam was nominated for SVP, Yaniv was nominated for PR, Jes was nominated for Website, Yaniv and Chelsea were nominated for MVP, and Yaniv and yours truly (Stephanie!) were nominated for Fellowship. Elections are to be held at the next meeting.

Jes and I are doing a Safe Sex Service Project at some point after the 18th of September and the whole chapter will be holding a children’s book drive, to collect books for sectionals!

We talked about Rush… pretty much everything is set up and done. Club Fair is tomorrow, so if you’re free and want to come represent, head on over to our table!

As for fellowships, I will be coordinating a Halloween themed fellowship on the 29th of October. I’ll make the Facebook event page after pinning, when I can get a date and time and room. Come and dress up!

In regards to the pledge program, everything is done… woo! I’ll send out the schedule of events after pinning. I’ll make another group for it once we know whom our pledges are. My biggest focus this semester will be the importance of brotherhood… amongst the pledges, the actives, the inactives and associates, the advisors, the other chapters, and our beloved alumni.

As far as fundraising goes, we have the blog ($.44 so far! Keep it coming!) and the surveys. We’re going to set up more as soon as we can.

The following are other events we are participating in:

Inter Chapter Relations Day

October 17 from 9 AM to 6 PM

Sectionals at Steven’s “Frank Reed Horton and the Chocolate Factory”

November 7

Collecting children’s books

National Service Week November 1-7

Our theme: Blue and Gold Go Green!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

October 18 at 10AM at Military Park in Newark, NJ

Texts from Amanda!

This is a little bit that I'll simply call "Texts from Amanda!"
My friend/APO bro tends to send out some pretty bizarre text messages... about seven a day... all day.  I'll give them to you here, because they're informative and funny.  Enjoy...

O! Since we've last talked i've decided that when it's time for me to get married i'm gonna go to Ireland and find me a good Irish Catholic husband cuz Ireland actually has a majority of practicing and devout Catholics.  So i'm gonna marry and Irishman and start a dynasty like the Kennedy's.

Am i wrong for thinking communism is evil?

They need to hurry up and canonize Mother Theresa, she's been beatified and is now known as Blessed Theresa of Calcutta, i just want the College of Cardinals to declare her a saint already.  Great woman, all things considered she was beatified VERY quickly which is one step away from canonization so she'll be a saint soon hopefully. (on average it takes over 100 yrs after death to canonize) she's only been dead 12 yrs, but she is  saint, so she should be regarded as such.  Great woman.  Did so much for everyone she could, she gave everything for nothing.  Amazing human being ya know.  I wanna be a saint.

St. Catherine of Sienna was born in 1317, the 24th of 25 children.  Can u imagine havin 25 children... That's devotion right there.

Ya know how avada kedavra killed Cedric Diggory?  Do u think it would kill Edward Cullen?
